WAAS- This stands for Wide Area Augmentation Services. It was established by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration in 1994. It’s a system which increases the accuracy and availability of GPS location and navigation data. It was initially created for aircraft in landing and navigation.
